AIWF New York is proud to announce the 2nd Annual AIWF Culinary Sabbatical
Ever dreamt of stepping out of the kitchen to work briefly on a farm, or in a bakery….in Tuscany? Want to learn technique from a fishmonger in New England, a master charcuterie from Portland, Oregon or Lyon, France? Then sharpen your knives and your pencil and get to work explaining to us what you want to do and why, and compete for the chance to do it….on us!!
Here's how it works
Back Of House employees involved with food production and service are welcome to apply for the chance to participate in a culinary education of their own design. This is a chance to broaden horizons and return to the kitchen more cultured and experienced both professionally and personally. The sabbatical program will cover transportation and housing up to $5,000, including a $1,000 stipend for the finalist. AIWF will make available its existing partnerships with local and international farmers, fisherman, vintners and restaurants. The winner is welcome to utilize those relationships, or propose and build his/her own experience to fulfill the Culinary Sabbatical Requirements.
Deadline to submit an application is December 25, 2016 - winner to be announced in March 2017.
